Privacy Policy

YourTemple, made by TechDigit LLC, gives Hindu temples their own space in one app, where devotees follow events and announcements and sign up for seva, and gives trustees a portal to run it. This policy covers the YourTemple apps, yourtemple.app and the portal.
In short: we collect as little as we can, temples see totals rather than people, everything is encrypted, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
What we collect
Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the name and email you choose to share (Apple can give us a private relay address). We do not ask for your phone number.
Your temples. Which temples you follow, which you have muted, and the seva shifts you sign up for.
Activity counts. When you open the app we note, for each temple you follow, that someone was active, under a one-way code made from your account. This is how a temple sees how many devotees use the app today without seeing who.
Usage and crashes. Anonymous analytics (screens viewed, features used) and crash reports through Google Firebase, so we can fix problems. They are not linked to your name and never used for advertising.
Trustees. If you apply to list a temple, we collect your name, email and phone number and the temple's details. Your email and phone number are stored with an extra layer of encryption (see below).
What temples can see
Temple trustees never see your email address, and never see a list of who follows their temple. They see:
- how many devotees follow the temple, how many are in the app right now, and how many opened it today and yesterday;
- totals for announcements (how many were delivered and opened) and calendar adds;
- on a seva shift you sign up for, your first name and the initial of your last name (for example “Priya S.”), so the temple knows who is coming.
How we use it
Only to run the Service: to sign you in, show your temples, send the announcements and reminders you allow, show seva rosters, bill temples, keep the Service secure, and improve it. We do not sell or rent personal data, do not share it for advertising, and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we protect it
- Everything sent to or from YourTemple is encrypted in transit with TLS (HTTPS).
- All stored data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 by Google Cloud.
- The most sensitive details we hold (trustee applicants' email and phone) are also encrypted field by field, with keys held in Google Cloud Key Management Service.
- Access rules are enforced on our servers: you can read your own profile; temples cannot. Our own access is limited to what running the Service needs, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit log.
- Card payments by temples are handled entirely by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1). We never see card numbers.
- On your phone, your sign-in is kept in the system's secure storage (the iOS Keychain).
More detail is on our Security page. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you as the law requires.
Who processes data for us
Google Firebase and Google Cloud (accounts, database, notifications, analytics, crash reports, encryption keys); Vercel (the website); Stripe (temple billing); Resend (emails to trustees); and an AI model provider that reads temples' public websites to fill in their app, which is never sent devotee data. Each is bound to use the data only to provide its service to us.
How long we keep it
Your account data is kept until you delete your account. Daily activity marks are kept for a few days; only the daily totals remain, and they identify no one. Temple billing records are kept as tax law requires. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your name, leave or mute any temple, turn off notifications, and permanently delete your account and its data from Profile in the app at any time. Deletion removes your profile, the temples you follow, your seva sign-ups and your activity marks.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act) you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to how we use it. Email support@techdigit.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information.
Children
YourTemple is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
We will post any change on this page and tell you in the app or by email if it is significant. Questions about your privacy? Email support@techdigit.com.
